"There is no planet, sun, or star
that could hold you if you but knew who you are"
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Open Door Studio is committed to building community through the arts. How? By enriching lives with musical theatre that brings children and families together, stimulates imagination, inspires, and teaches. We present our theatre performances in a positive and safe environment and in ways that are both humorous and thought provoking.

Art is for everyone. We strive to present performances that are enjoyable for all members of the family while keeping the content age appropriate for preschool children.

We strive to serve the community through diverse audience building. In-kind Donations in the past year include:

Boise Little Theatre donated space for two performances to help us make it possible for every Boise area Head Start child to attend free of charge.

Actors, Musicians, and Technician donated their time for a free performance at "Friendship Feast" - a dinner for the homeless community at Boise First United Methodist Church.

In our effort to make our shows accessible to everyone, Open Door Studio donated the following blocks of tickets:

  • Head Start of Boise - 400 tickets
  • Hayes Youth Shelter - 25 tickets
  • The Arc Group Home - 14 tickets
  • Marquis Care Center - 10 tickets
  • Samaritan Village - 10 tickets
  • Families with financial hardship - 40 tickets

In the future, we are hoping to work with sign language specialists so that we can provide interpreters for one performance that will have several seats reserved for the deaf community.
